Step 1 Preheat oven to 350.
Step 2 Place filling ingredients in pot over heat. Boil and stir constantly. Continue until gelatinous consistency is attained. Do not burn!
Step 3 Mix crumble layer ingredients until well incorporated. Press two-thirds of the of the crumble into the bottom of a greased 9″ x 13” pan. Bake for 12 minutes.
Step 4 Remove from oven. Pour date filling on top of the freshly baked bottom layer. Sprinkle remaining crumble on top. Bake for 30 minutes.
Step 5 Allow bars to cool before cutting into squares. Store in fridge.
